Well, we love this little 'weed'!FanPetal grows great in zones 8-10.These seeds were harvested June 2022.Indian Blanket Indian Blanket is one of our FAVORITE Florida Native flowers! The beautiful pink, orange & yellow flowers grow along the sandy beaches of the East Coast of Florida. We tossed a few seeds into the 'Cottage Garden' and it grew great on our Farm in the North Florida Panhandle. They are resistant to deer & rabbits! When the Rudbeckia was eaten, these grew in to take their place. Indian Blanket grows well in salty, sandy soils. It grows almost everywhere!Indian Blanket grows great in zones 3-10.These seeds were harvested August 2022.Lance Leaf CoreopsisWe have many patches of beautiful Lance Leaf Coreopsis popping up naturally all over the farm. The flowers are so pretty, we even planted a few in our 'cottage' garden. The yellow flowers are gorgeous and attract many bees and butterflies. The blooms will start in early spring and last throughout summer-time. Lance Leaf Coreopsis is very hardy and requires no special care or watering. It will grow large with time with no issues of insects or disease.Coreopsis is used medicinally for a few interesting things:A tea made from the roots is emetic and is also used in the treatment of gastrointestinal problems. An infusion of the whole plant without the root has been used by women desiring a female baby.We have never experimented with this plant, but thought these uses were too odd to be a myth! These will readily self-seed and produce many more plants!Papa says the Lance-Leaf Coreopsis is really under-rated. It should be everyone's favorite flower!!Lance Leaf Coreopsis grows great in zones 4-9.These seeds were harvested in June 2022.Partridge PeaPartridge Pea is the 'mini mimosa' Florida native growing all over the farm. We didn't know what they were at first, but the bees and butterflies knew what they were! Plant these near your garden to bring in many different pollinators! The beautiful yellow flowers in the summer turn to small seed pods that rattle come fall. We couldn't help ourselves - we had to go pick a whole bag full of seed pods.Next year, these will be growing in rows all over the farm! They are great for erosion control and hold soil very well in poor sandy conditions. The birds and small mammals love a great snack too!Partridge Pea grows great in zones 3-9.These seeds were harvested October 2022.Pineland Hibiscus The Pineland Hibiscus is one very unique Florida Native flower! The leaves are almost maple shaped with hints of red outlining the green.Beautiful white blooms with pink / red inside pepper our farm in the late Summer. This bush grows to be 4 feet tall and about 3 feet wide.It is a long-lived perennial commonly found on the sandhills in the Pine and Oak forests.Pineland Hibiscus is a host plant to many butterflies & moths including: Gray Hairstreak, Painted Lady, Checkered Skipper, Pearly Wood, Yellow Scallop, IO Moth, and Bird Dropping Moths.Flowers attract many native bees including the Rosemallow Bee.This seed was very popular last year - selling out quickly!Hopefully we will harvest enough to stay in stock this year.We are currently harvesting these and quantities available will increase in a few weeks.Pineland Hibiscus grows great in zones 7-9.These seeds were harvested August 2022.
