Description: This First Alert Fire Escape Ladder was made by BRK Brands, Inc. for a second story window. It is portable, compact and easy to store under a bed or in a closet. We had this when we were raising our family in a 2-story house. We kept one in each bedroom. I had taken them out of their box so that they were quick to get out and put out the window. So, there are no boxes included but the ladder has never been used. The measurement of the steps only is 15” long x 14 3/4” wide. The length with the handles is 34 1/2”. And the length of the unit with the rope extended (not let down) is 45”. The handle part is made of aluminum and hangs over the window sill. Once you have done that, you pull the quick release pull (which is made of plastic) and the steps will fall down as instructed on the ladder itself. The cording is a nylon rope and the steps are plastic with grooves on each one. There are a total of 11 steps to safety.This ladder is looking for a new home as we have moved into a ranch.
