Description: I have for sale one of the cleanest, original finish, hand carved mantles I’ve owned in years circa 1880. These do not come up very often. The carvings are deep and sharp. Purchased from a couple who told me it was located in a Medina NY house that was built by the brother of Susan B. Anthony. I’m trying to get photos of the home and photos of it installed. The mantle is big and heavy. Made of black walnut it measures 74” wide 54”high and projects 22” from the wall. The opening measures 58x40”. This is a unique item and you will look a long time till you find another this large and of the same quality.
