Fenton Fairy Lamp For LG Wright Pink Cased Overlay Hand Painted Roses

Description: Vintage ~ Fenton for LG Wright ~ 4 PIECE Fairy Lamp ~ pink Cased Overlay ~ Wildrose Satin Pattern ~ #1-3D This is a beautiful, larger fairy lamp from the 1970s, which boasts a satin cased dome, light blue over white. There is a matching footed base with a turn down ruffle. There are two clear inserts, both embossed with the Wright 'W' in the base. See the last two photos. The dome is decorated with hand painted, enameled flowers in the Wildrose Satin pattern. Model #1-3D. This piece measures approx. 7" high and 5.5" wide across the ruffles. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or stains. There is a little roughness around the inside rim at the very very top of the piece, but I can't say for sure that it is chipped. "The company's first fairy lamps, the handpainted "Peach Blow" types, were made from company owned molds in the early 1960s by either the Venetian Glass Corp. or Fenton Art Glass Co. These early ones were probably decorated by the Zarilla Art Glass Co. and later ones by the Wright decorating department, which opened in 1968. These were of four-piece design with intermediate fairy-size clear glass lamp cups and candle cups made from molds patterned after 1880s Clarke models. Quite a few other styles were introduced in the late 1960s and 1970s, mostly of pressed glass having a variety of embossed patterns. In 1977 an "Overlay" style similar to the earlier "Peach Blow" type was introduced with handpainted decoration and in a variety of colors. The Wright logo of W inside a circle first appeared in 1974 embossed inside the lamp cups and candle cups. All the earlier ones were unmarked.
