Why do we need softbox and honeycomb grid? Without softbox, the RX-12T/TD itself provide sharp and hard light with a broad illumination angle, while a softbox usually gives you soft and even light, with controlled light angle and smooth edges. And commonly it is difficult to divide the background into two parts with different brightness, however a honeycomb grid can make it. By added a honeycomb grid, light will become more directional with the sharper edge, this can increase brightness contrast and the model/object is divided into lit and unlit parts.
