Description: 19th Century Artist Lewis Signed, on lower right, this Wonderfully Bucolic Countryside Landscape with Figures. It is an Original Oil on Canvas from the late 1800's. A mother and son, nicely dressed (Sunday maybe), cross a path by a small pond. Behind them, a castle-like tower looms over several homes and in the distance, at left, an arched stone bridge crosses a river to a town, nestled in the valley. Color palette is quite warm and inviting. There is craquelure (fine pattern of dense cracking formed on the surface) throughout the piece but the canvas and paint are stable. There is also some paint loss, around the edges only, covered once framed.Canvas measures 14 X 22 and is in Good Antique condition.Please carefully examine all images for condition.
