Description: An original pastel drawing depicting a Scottish loch landscape scene with cattle by Ezra 'Elmer' Keene (1853 - 1929) Elmer Keene's exquisite card-friendly images of rural and coastal places made him a renowned artist in his day, an oil painting of a view at Burniston Bay, North Yorkshire exhibited at The Royal Academy in 1895. A large number of his paintings have being turned into postcards by several manufacturers, including Tucks, and despite not exhibiting widely, Elmer presumably found a ready market for his work. Signed 'Elmer Keene' in bottom left along with cataloguing sticker on reverse. Drawing: 12" x 6.75" / 30.5 cm x 17.15 cm - Frame: 19" x 13.75" / 48.25 cm x 34.925 cm Pastel and glass in excellent condition, just some damage to the gesso on frame. A lovely piece ready to be hung and a rarity to find an original work by Elmer Keene. Please inspect images thoroughly and enlarge, if you have any questions or require more photographs please do not hesitate to ask.
