Description: A Moveable Feast is a memoir by Ernest Hemingway about his years as a struggling expatriate journalist and writer in Paris during the 1920s. It was published posthumously in 1964.[1] The book chronicles Hemingway's first marriage to Hadley Richardson and his relationships with other cultural figures of the Lost Generation in interwar France. Hemingway's memoir references many notable figures of the time including Sylvia Beach, Hilaire Belloc, Bror von Blixen-Finecke, Aleister Crowley, John Dos Passos, F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Ford Madox Ford, James Joyce, Wyndham Lewis, Pascin, Ezra Pound, Evan Shipman, Gertrude Stein, Alice B. Toklas, and Hermann von Wedderkop. The work mentions many bars, cafes, and hotels that still exist in Paris today. Ernest Hemingway's suicide in July 1961 delayed the publication of the book, but the memoir was published posthumously in 1964 by his fourth wife and widow, Mary Hemingway, from the original manuscripts and notes. All proceeds go to local homeless and women’s shelters in Colorado. Unread and stored. GORGEOUS bright cover. Hardcover Jacket Grade: NF Book Grade: NF ————————————————————- PLEASE SEE THE BELOW explanation for my grading scale to understand how I assess the quality of my book collection. I use an antiquarian universal, standard grading scale to ensure a clear, accurate description of the book and dust jacket. * New (N): The book is in the same immaculate condition as when it was published. This could be the description for a book that has been kept in a warehouse for years, never shelved, thumbed or even opened yet may still be some years old. •Fine (F) New and Unread with Remarkable Dust Jacket. A Fine book approaches the condition of New, but without it being crisp. * Near Fine (NRF): A few small flaws are present Near Fine (FN): The book may have been opened and has no noticeable flaws. •Very Good (VG): A sound and collectible copy with some visible flaws but no tears - on either binding or paper. Any defects should be noted. •Good (G): A worn book that is perfectly readable but not collectible. Describes the average used worn book that has all pages or leaves present. Any defects should be noted. Please ask any additional questions regarding dust cover jacket, spine condition or page condition BEFORE purchase!
