Energy 22 Pro / Reference / Reference Connoisseur Tweeter Adapter Plate

Description: Welcome to The Speaker Port! Up for a sale is a pair of custom designed tweeter adapter plates made specifically for the Energy 22 line of speakers (Pro/Reference/Reference Connoisseur). If you own a set of these, you may already know that the tweeters in them are prone to failure and to repair them is near impossible. The big problem with replacing them is that these tweeters had a huge mounting plate and most replacement tweeters are not nearly as big. The second issue is that the original tweeter/crossover dips pretty good into the mid-range frequencies so finding a replacement tweeter with a frequency response that goes that low is also hard to find. A popularly documented replacement option was the Dayton Audio RS28F. These would be straight replacements, but unfortunately they were smaller than the originals and required a lot of fabrication/cabinet modification to get them mounted (and not look goofy.) The RS28F’s are no longer available, however, the DC28F’s are and they have the are outstanding, high definition replacements for the original tweeters. Again, the problem was fitment. As a result, we have custom designed an adapter plate to resolve this issue. These plates are custom designed to allow you to use the DC28F’s and mount them in the original tweeter opening without any modifications. These were designed and produced using 3D printing technology and are composed from PLA filament material. IMPORTANT NOTES: This listing is only for one pair of adapter plates and 6 flat head mounting screws (to affix the plate to the cabinet.) It does NOT include the DC28F tweeters. It does not include mounting hardware for holding the tweeter in the adapter plate. We have a separate listing that includes the pair of DC28F tweeters as well as the mounting hardware if you prefer that instead of just the plate. Please see our other listings. Also, the mounting plate wood screws that we are providing are a bit bigger than the originals. As a result, we highly recommend drilling out you original mounting holes (in the speaker cabinet) using a 5/32” bit (not included). Lastly, if you use these plates with the DC28F's, you will need to replace the wire connectors on the original wire harness with standard female blade types. They can be either crimped or soldered on. These are not included with the adapter plates but are readily available at most hardware stores. We have spent a lot of time and effort in being able to produce this product for you. We plan to look for and make other adapter plates for this and other speaker enclosures. Limited 30 Day Parts/Labor Warranty The Speaker Port will provide a limited 30-day warranty for this item against component failure. This is a repair/replace warranty only; it does not allow for the return of the item(s) for a refund for any reason. Terms of return are as follows: If you decide with the 30 day period that you want to return you item, you must contact us directly through eBay or use our Contact form on our web site. Any return must have a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number issued from us else, you will not be refunded.The item must be returned in complete working condition, missing no parts and in the same physical and working condition as it was when it left our possession.
