The reason for the issues: There are three typical Ovation-like paint cracks on the top (with photos available). There are no cracks in the wood (confirmed from the inside). Even upon a quick look, the cracks are not very noticeable. The neck joint separation is also fine. Overall cleaning, nut height adjustment, saddle height adjustment, fret leveling, and string height adjustment have been done to the bare minimum. If the saddle is lowered further, the string tension will decrease, affecting the piezo response Lowering string height unnecessarily. Guitars with low saddle height tend to have shorter sustain and may buzz. Sound transmission to the body also weakens. For improved sound quality, ensure saddle clearance of 2mm (0.07 inch) on the 6th string and 1.5mm (0.05 inch) on the 1st string. A guitar that is easy to play considers that the string height on the lower frets is the most important. I've adjusted the 1st fret height to 0.35 (0.013 inch) to 0.45mm (0.017 inch). The primary reason for difficulty in pressing the F chord is due to high 1st fret height. Many guitars seem to have unadjusted nut heights. This is truly a very easy-to-play guitar. The strings are as currently set, replace them based on your preference.
