Description: Up for sale are some fine old English close plated steel nutcrackers by Joseph Rodgers & Sons of Sheffield. The pieces are 5 1/8 inches long. They have a double-sided hinge to accommodate different sizes of nuts. The have barbed plates to hold the nuts, and turned ribbed handles. They have not been monogrammed. They are marked [J][R][G][R] on the hinge as shown, an early mark of Joseph Rodgers. Condition on the nutcrackers is good. There is just normal wear from use. Some fine old pieces of close plate!
