Description: From the Northern French countryside, the Longwy Pottery factory was born in 1798, and is still producing beautiful enamel earthenware objects today. Napoleon commissioned tableware directly from the factory during his reign. The pottery mark shown on the underside of this plate, was used by Longwy during the years 1919 - 1939, placing it in the heart of the art deco period. While the colours of the top design is understated, the blue and green highlights make it a charming piece. The plate condition is good with crazing evident. There is a small piece of the ceramic missing from the top left underside. Sent by Australia Post.
