Linda Arvidson (1884 - 1949) was an American stage and film actress who became an early motion picture star while working at Biograph Studios in New York. She quickly became a popular leading lady and met her future husband, director D.W. Griffith as the film industry began its rapid expansion and relevance as an art form in the modern culture. She and Griffith were married from 1906 - 1936, although they separated around 1912, then officially divorcing 24 years later when Griffith wished to remarry.
