Description: Vintage Dufex foil print of Christ in Gethsemane. Nice blue toned scene. Printed by Dufex Prints in England. Print measures approx 8.5" x 6.5" Dufex printing was a process developed by F.J. Warren in the early 20th century, and involves printing images onto aluminium foil-lined paper or cardboard, using UV formulated transparent inks, which allow the reflective shine to be retained. Engraving techniques are then used to add a range of light reflective textures to the foil. Made 1950s - 1998. This print was part of the personal collection of a serious art collector and owner of a fine art gallery in Northeast, Iowa. When the couple retired, and auctioned off the remaining inventory in their gallery and sold off the majority of their personal collection, I acquired a great deal of it. This print has been in a photo album for decades! Keeping it safe, free of scratches and out of the sun. It is in excellent condition!!
