After thoroughly wetting your hair, carefully massage shampoo into your dreadlocks and scalp. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze the water out of your dreadlocks. Wrap them in a towel to absorb excess moisture and then be sure to let them dry thoroughly by air or with a hair dryer before tieing them up. It is a good idea to palm roll after shampooing as this will separate and shape each dread. If your dreads are new or if you feel they have become loose or messy, then you may also want to perform some maintenance.
