Description: Flagler Street is a 12.4-mile main east-west road in Miami. It is the latitudinal baseline that divides all the streets on the Miami-Dade County grid plan as north of south streets. (The east-west division is along Miami Avenue.) Flagler Street is named after industrialist Henry Flagler and serves as a major commercial east-west highway through central Miami-Dade County, with a mixture of residential neighborhoods and strip malls, then commercial presence increasing as it approaches downtown Miami. At Miami Avenue, they form the center of Miami. This card, published by “Thomas R. West” using a photo by “G.W Romer” chronicles downtown Miami in what looks to be c 1930s? It is a busy street with era autos and signs, “Keyes Insurance and “Western Onion”,” Kress” and “Burdines” among them. The card is in excellent condition with minor wear and a clean, clear image. The reverse has a message and is clean. It is postmarked 1938 and is a linen card. The colors on the card may vary due to the scanner settings and screen projections.Unless otherwise noted, I use Wikipedia, Playle's and Metropostcard for research and try to be as accurate as possible. Corrections appreciated. If this your card, it will be mailed promptly upon receipt of payment......
