Description: This listing is for a painting by Ruald Georgievich Dmitriev Дмитриев Руальд Георгиевич (1928, Moscow – 2001, Moscow) Dmitriev was Moscow based painter. Dmitriev graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School in 1947 and the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I.Surikov in 1953. He participated in multiple exhibitions beginning in 1952. He was a also member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Dmitriev joined the bureau of the painting section of the Moscow Union of Artists in 1968. From 1974-1975 he was chief artist of the Combine of Painting Art. His art has been seen in major auctions including "Christie's" (Great Britain), "Drouot" (France). Personal exhibitions included: 1976 editorial office of the newspaper "Trud", Moscow; 1986 exhibition hall of the Moscow Union of Artists on Vavilov Street, Moscow; 2001 exhibition hall Kuznetsky Most, 20, Moscow; 2002 exhibition hall of the magazine "Our Heritage". Dmitriev's works are in the Exhibition Directorate of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Art Museum of Pereslavl-Zalessky, as well as in private collections in Russia, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, Japan. This painting is titled "The Village" and is dated 1960. It is a wonderful example of Dmitriev's work. It shows wooden buildings in winter snow. Power lines can be seen overhead. This oil on board painting is signed on the lower right as well as the reverse. This framed piece measures 30 x 18 inches This painting is in great shape. The frame has one minor sign of repair on the upper left detailing.
