We wanted to leave them unattached for lower cost for the DIY builder, and so you can paint the seat frames two-toned if that's what you're after. If you would like yours made WITHOUT the rivet holes, just send me a message and we'll make it happen. Once you receive the frames, simply cut your pieces of plywood for the seat and back area, cut seat foam to fit, wrap with desired material, and staple to the wood.
