Description: Ding HaoAmerica's Air War in China 1937-1945Wanda Cornelius & Thayne ShortPelican Publishing Company | Gretna, LA | 1980pp. 463 | BCE | Signed by 20 Flying Tigers & Others Condition: Very Good Hardcover with yellow paper over quarter blue leather boards and gilt titles to spine. Extremities bumped with minor soils to boards, but exterior presents brightly nonetheless. Interior remains bright and free of any stains, dog-ears, or tears, and binding is sturdy throughout with sound hinges. Save for mild smudges to white spaces, jacket is vibrant and unsoiled. Jacket unclipped and now housed in archival sleeve. A handsome, tight copy of a stated Book Club edition. Volume signed in ink opposite half-title by twenty members of the Flying Tigers and 23rd Fighter Group. All but one signature identified, 2nd down on the left column which seems to read as "F.W. Adkins". This could potentially be that of Francis Adkins, as opposed to the better known AVG pilot Frank Adkins, who was killed during a training exercise in 1945. A fine collection of signatures including a number of commanders, crew members, pilots and, notably, five aces. Full signatures list with roles as follows: F.W.
