Description: For sale is a double vinyl record box set by Diana Ross and The Supremes titled "Farewell", originally released in 1970 by Motown Records in a deluxe box with a full color 16-page booklet. In the dead wax between these labels and the last tracks is etched "K", followed by numerous diagonal slashes (K//////), signifying that this record set was mastered by Randy Kling at Motown's Studio in Hollywood, California. This is a hallmark of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record set used, professionally cleaned them on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put the two records into archival inner sleeves. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There are no original inner sleeves with this listing. The cover of the box is graded as Very Good because of foxing around the edges, edge rubs, a drill hole through the lower left hand corner, a tear along the right side along with two of the corners have splits. The spine has color loss at one corner from a blunt and there is some foxing. The bottom of the bos is intact with only one corner split and some of the paper is beginning to peal. The 16-page booklet is graded as Near Mint Minus because of a little creasing to one corner. The vinyl for Side One, Three and Four is visually graded as Near Mint with shiny and bright surfaces, all in a like new condition, without any sleeve marks, surface scratches, smudges or spindle marks on the labels. Side Two, however, has a couple of smudges along with fine line sleeve marks and superficial surface scratches (see photograph). I test played this side and found rotational ticks, predominately noticeable during "Didn't We", that were masked by the music for the rest of this side. I would play grade this side as Very Good, and as a whole I graded the complete record set as Very Good Plus. This would be a welcome addition to any one's collection. I have a lot more Motown records, as well as albums of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
