In my opinion the stock transmission pan does not hold enough oil for heavy towing and work i use my truck for. I never tested it to see if it actually runs cooler with the deep pan. I imagine it will run cooler with double the oil capacity!. It holds about 5-6 more quarts! Also it is very nice having a drainplug since chevy never puts them on thier truck transmission pans. I highly suggest useing the paper gasket and RTV selant on the gasket instead of useing the rubber gasket. That is the only problem i had with this oil pan. I used the rubber gasket that come with the new filter i bought. and it leaked. had to take it back off and use the paper gasket that came with the pan. Cons: made out of thin metal compared to stock sealing washer on drain plug is to large Pros: double oil capacity drain plug Yes, I recommend this product.
