Description: This item consists of two 8 1/2" x 11" transparencies: the art itself and lettering overlay. Viewed together this represents a single page as originally printed in the comic. They were used to verify how the colors looked together before beginning the actual print run of the book. These are becoming more rare with the proliferation of computerized drawing, coloring and lettering in the print industry. No original pencils, inks or colors are included; as such they are listed as "Wall Art" rather than "Original Art". These were a final quality-control step in the production process and were not mass-produced like the comics. As such they are almost always a unique, one-of-a kind collectible although this cannot be guaranteed for any individual image. I have collected these over the years as beautiful, affordable art in my home as related to many of my favorite artists (like Jack Kirby), characters or stories. However I have far more now than can be displayed and need to thin out the collection. The vibrant colors and detail look fantastic framed (many comic-sized products are readily available for this purpose now), especially the title or splash pages. They are also perfect to have signed by the writer and/or artist at conventions!
