Description: In Stock Beautiful, highly figured curly/flame/crotch walnut(juglans nigra) top/bottom on fine grade eastern white pine(pinus strobus) core guitar body. Rear rout for controls with control cover to match exactly grain of back plate. Neck pocket is sized for a t-style pocket. In order to build light and stable, this guitar body consists of 3 layers of lamination, 0.375 highly figured western walnut top and bottom, plus center core of fine grade eastern white pine that has been chambered to further reduce weight. Routed for 2 humbucker, volume and control knobs, and switch. 7/8 jack rout. Neck is 2 and 3/16 tele rout. Edges are routed at about 1/16 radius- only a slight easing- so you could add binding if desired. Please note my construction technique makes it possible to produce the rear control cover with an an exact grain -next to last pic. Handmade body In US entirely in shop/from "scratch", not fender, sanded to 150 grit. Unfinished, photographe with very light wash coat of shellac. As seen in the photos, the top walnut laminate is sort of a reddish color, more so than the bottom skin which is multi colored. Will need further sanding and work. Because of the chambered body and lightweight core construction, this guitar body weighs about 3 pounds, 15.4 oz on my scale.
