Description: I just received a shipment from Guerrero with lots of Hand Carved Wood masks and Canvas Body Figures all painted in the Amate Bark Painting Birds of Paradise and lots of plants. Each figure begins with a small hand carved wood head and then is attached to a canvas body with a gesso coating and then hand painted with traditional designs. It has been distressed and given a matte wax finish which gives this piece an Antique appearance, but this is a newly made piece! There is a hole at the top of the head so you can string some twine and hang it on the wall. They are lots of fun and quite whimsical. Perfect for the collector of Mexican Folk Art.... He measures; 15 1/2 inches tall by 9 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep.
