Something Weird Video was created by a man named Mike Vraney in 1989 and he ran the company, releasing hundreds and hundreds of VHS tapes. Throughout the 1990s, he remastered and re-released many of these titles to DVD-R. He would travel the United States selling VHS tapes and DVD-Rs at regional conventions. It was at one of these conventions where he would met his future wife, Lisa Petrucci. Mike Vraney died ten years ago but his wife, Lisa, has kept the Something Weird Video label alive, hand-making and selling these DVD-Rs out of her shoreline home. At the end of the year, she will no longer be selling physical copies of these films, they will only be available on a streaming platform. Most of the DVD-R titles are now long out of print and there are no plans on anyone else re-pressing these.
