Description: US Civil War Confederate Staff & Field Officers Sword with Leather Scabbard. There is an extremely faint "Boyle", "Made", "Mitchell" and "Richmond" on the ricasso. The guard has a "CS" with star above and there is a "30" on the underside of the guard by the ricasso. The grip, guard and pommel are all tight. The grip appears to have been re-done at some point. Single strand straight copper wire may be original. The blade is etched but is extremely faint, can only be barely seen on one side. Overall, the blade is straight, doesn't look sharpened but does feel slightly sharp, tip is sharp, some small nicks, and has surface rust with pitting scattered throughout. The leather scabbard is complete, but the top seam has let go from top to bottom, the mounts are loose, and there is scattered surface leather loss throughout. The washer is missing. Length of the blade is 30 3/4" (1" wide and 1/4" thick), the sword is 36 1/16", and in the scabbard it is 36 5/8". Check out my other War Items! Including More Swords and Many Bayonets!
