Description: TIBOR & LUMIA Commander Deck (full decklist below)“a dance of wind and fire”A traditional Tibor & Lumia deck attacks on two fronts. Tibor, a wind mage, grants a creature flying whenever you cast a blue spell. Lumia, a fire mage, pings every non-flying creature for 1 whenever you cast a red spell. In Magic lore, Tibor and Lumia are a husband-wife team who, despite their contrasting colours, use their skills in harmony. That’s what this deck aims to do. You’ll be able to ping opposing ground creatures – and not just for 1 damage, but much more than that – and at the same time you’ll be able to lift your creatures up into the air to protect them. Once airborne, your creatures, and the many tokens you’ll be able to generate, can attack. And this deck has an additional twist – it runs a number of theft cards, where you can temporarily, and sometimes permanently, take possession of your opponents’ creatures.Cards which grant all your creatures flying – Levitation, Wonder, and Student of the Elements – serve a dual purpose. They’ll give your creatures evasion, but they’ll also make sure they’re safely aloft when you start pinging. Archetype of Imagination is even better, because it also grounds all opposing creatures. They’ll now be vulnerable to damage from Lumia, and unless your opponents have creatures with reach, the skies will be clear for you to attack.There are some card-drawing creatures in the form of Jori En, Ruin Diver and Wavebreak Hippocamp. Cheap blue or red cantrips like Opt or Rile will draw you cards whilst enabling Tibor & Lumia’s abilities. You’ll be drawing through your deck quickly to find the important cards you need, and keeping your opponents in check at the same time. Even more flexibility is provided by looting and rummaging effects with inclusions such as Fact or Fiction and Faithless Looting. Tribute Mage and Trinket Mage can tutor up exactly what you need, and this is where your commander gets really powerful.These mages can tutor for Gorgon’s Head, Gorgon Flail and Vile of Poison. These cards will turn your commander from a pesky pinger to a deadly stinger. When Tibor & Lumia has deathtouch, every time you cast a red spell, everything on the ground dies. An alternative strategy is to miniaturise your opponents creatures. Polymorphist’s Jest and Mass Diminish will mean enemy creatures can be killed with a simple ping for 1.Since Tibor’s ability can target any creature, not just your own, you can turn your blue spells into bounce spells with Cowardice, or even into kill spells with Dismiss into Dream.Control comes in the form of counterspells. Blue-Red spells like Izzet Charm, Swerve and Counterflux will frustate your opponents, and they trigger both of your commander’s abilities.The deck has ways to make tokens, many of which come with flying. Improbable Alliance, Murmuring Mystic and Talrand, Sky Summoner are perfect.You’ll be casting plenty of instants and sorceries, and filling your graveyard with them, and Guttersnipe and Runechanter’s Pike are among inclusions which can take advantage of this.Finally, perhaps the most fun aspect of the deck is your ability borrow your opponents’ creatures. Dominus of Fealty and Mass Mutiny are great, but the best of all is Willbreaker which turns all of your blue spells into Mind Controls! One other thing. The deck has lots of flexibility and you can upgrade and develop it in a number of different ways. You might want to concentrate more on pinging, and the spin-offs you can get from that, or there are many more theft cards available if you like playing with your opponents' creatures. Alternatively, it doesn't take too much to turn this into a mass token generating deck. Again, there are more ways to suit up your commander if you want to try out a voltron style deck. As Tibor likes to say, "The sky's the limit!"Most of the cards are mint or near mint. Those that are not are in very good used condition. One or two of the older cards may have moderate play.
