Electrolytic capacitors dry out with age, and heat. They become leaky, intermittent, exhibit high ESR and are difficult to trouble shoot. If you want to keep your Cobra 2000GTL running for a long period of time, I have prepared a capacitor replacement kit specifically for the Cobra 2000GTL. An installation guide is provided with the kit. The kit is comprised of 59 capacitors The capacitor kit shown in the photo is generic in nature as I have a wide variety of kits for Icom, Kenwood and Yaesu. Capacitors used in the kit are brand new Nichicon/Panasonic any back-ordered part(rare) I substitute with CDE/CHEMI-CON rated at 85 deg. C or higher.
