Beautifully done in earth tones in hues of greens and browns yellows. The artists ability to capture light filtering through the forest down to the forest floor is quite impressive. An exceptional painting. One picture shows this painting with a frame on it. That frame is not included in the sale. That frame does not fit the paining and was just used for a prop to convey what this painting could look like with a proper and appropriate picture frame. Unframed as mentioned Measurements: 12 3/4” x 16 3/4” Fritz Halberg-Krauss (1874 - 1951) Fritz Halberg-Krauss studied landscape painting in Munich, where he was influenced by the French Barbizon school. Halberg-Krauss preferred to paint landscapes around Lake Chiemsee and Dachau. Especially his lake scenes are characterized by a loving devotion to nature. He was largely self-taught, influenced by Joseph Wenglein, Hugo Burgel and August Fink and went on study trips to France , Italy and Switzerland. Member of the "Munich Künstlergenossenschaft and Künstlerbund Isar ", active in Munich-Gern.
