Description: This is a rare September 1st, 1947 programme (playbill) from the two-week, Post-London engagement of the ARTHUR MACRAE, MANNING SHERWIN and HAROLD PURCELL musical comedy "UNDER THE COUNTER" at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, England. (The London production opened November 22nd, 1945 at the Phoenix Theatre in London and ran for 665 performances before going on the road. Following the Provincial Tour, the Original Broadway production would open October 3rd, 1947 at New York's Shubert Theatre and run for only 27 performances.) .....
