Description: TITLE: Partners In Crime AUTHOR: Christie, Agatha PUBLISHER: Dell Books, Date: 1975 ISBN: 0440068482 FORMAT: Paperback, 224 pages EDITION: New Dell Edition PRINTING [if applicable]: 1st Printing (Stated, January, 1975) BOOK CONDITION: Good JACKET CONDITION: No Jacket (As Issued) DIMENSIONS (if available): 7.00 x 4.25 x 0.25 in. approx. KEYWORDS: Agatha Christie, Mystery, Golden Age, Partners in Crime, Tommy, Tuppence, Beresford, Detective, Agency, Blunt's DESCRIPTION: From the back cover: "When a happily married couple decided to spike their bliss with a little blackmail and larceny, their lives became much more exciting. But. when the excitement suddenly included murder, they realized that their togetherness could be dangerous -- and quite a bit shorter than they'd planned." Following Christie's early introduction of Tommy and Tuppence Beresford in "The Secret Adversary" (1922), "Partners in Crime" takes up a series of interlinked short stories, each themselves a gentle parody of some well-remembered (and not-so-well-remembered) writers of the genre up to that time, including Arthur Conan Doyle, R. Austin Freeman, Edgard Wallace, G. K. Chesterton, and others. Eminiently readable in their own right, and memorably portrayed by James Warwick and Francesca Annis in the 1983 London Weekend Television series, "Partners in Crime" is another string to the bow of the creator of Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. CONDITION: Covers good, with edgewear and a conspicuous (but probably removable, with the right solvent) price sticker which someone started to remove, then stopped. Spine creased but solid, front and back hinges also creased but solid. Interior age-toned but appears unmarked. Outside edge of the text-block stained an attractive blue-green, marred only on the top edge buy a small, blurry stamp. A decent copy, not quite good enough for presentation.
