Description: A delicate, colorful, and minutely painted small porcelain cup with an everted rim. It has been painted with enamels in designs of flowers and one cricket perched on a flower. It was likely intended as a wine cup. The raised foot is unglazed and it probably once fit into a stand. The base is glazed. There is a tiny mark in red on the unglazed foot ring. MEASUREMENTS 3 1/8” (7.9 cm) diameter x 1 ¾” (4.4 cm) tall. Weighs 3.1 oz (80 g) CONDITION There is an old chip repair on the rim above the cricket. There is also another very tiny rim chip that doesn’t show from above. There are no breaks or hairlines. The glazes are still bright and clean. There are kiln flaws, such as bumps, black spots, and pin holes. A refined small cup with delicate paintings to be used or admired.
