About the author: Mary Isabella Bryson was a British missionary to China, serving at the London Mission, Wuchang China. She wrote of social life and customs in China in the Victorian age. She is the author of Cross and Crown: Stories of the Chinese Martrys, For Christ and China, John Kenneth MacKenzie: Medical Missionary to China,and Home Life in China.I have included a photo of Mrs. Bryson obtained from the New York Public Library Archives (see last pic). Condition:Acceptable antique condition -the boards are well worn, especially at edges and corners. There is some discoloration on the cover. Pages are yellowed with age, and some of the pages are dirty and smudged.
