In very good vintage condition. Charles Herbert Woodbury (1864-1940) was an American painter. He is best known for his landscapes and seascapes of New England. Woodbury's work was influenced by both the Hudson River School and European Impressionism. He is considered to be one of the most important American painters of the 20th century. He engaged in over 100 solo exhibitions throughout his career, and was included in all of the major invitational and juried shows throughout the country. His work may be found currently in The Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art among many others.
