Description: This is a near perfect, full set of Darwin’s “Authorized Edition” of his works published 1897-1898. They are bound in 1/4 red Moroccan leather with marbled boards, gold gilt lettered spines, and gold gilt on all page ends. This collection came from the estate of a well-known doctor, nutritionist, and author, but it looks like the books were never opened. The binding is like new and the only evidence that these books are 125 years old is some very minor scuff marks on only a few volumes. The fold out maps are pristine and crisp. It is the highest quality condition I have seen in my research of this edition. This is the complete 15 volume set from The Origin of the Species to the Life and Letters of Charles Darwin, written by his son. See the photos for all 15 titles. For anyone interested in nature, science theory, or historical research, I doubt there is a set of Darwin’s works in better condition than this set.
