Description: This sale is for one Centurion Comp TA bicycle in complete original condition. This bicycle is a 56cm frame size and equipped with a Shimano 600EX groupset, Cinelli bars/stem and Mavic/Ofmega wheelset. This was owned by a neighbor of mine who bought it after watching the cycling at the 1984 LA Olympics; the initial enthusiasm didn't last long and this bicycle saw very little use and has been in storage for the majority of the last forty years. I have the original owners manual and sales receipt from Bikesport in Canoga Park; these will be included in the sale. The bike is the original spec apart from some period upgrades made at or soon after the time of purchase. These upgrades are Dia Compe aero brake levers (originally Shimano 600EX), Cinelli bars and stem (originally SR), the Omega/Mavic wheelset (originally Suzue hubs/Araya rims) and Specialized Turbo S tires (originally IRC). As can be seen from the photos, this bicycle is in incredible, original condition; like it had just been wheeled out of the Bikesport store over forty years ago.; the most significant sign of any use is some scratching on the rear derailleur. A great period piece, ideal for Eroica or similar vintage events.
