Description: On offer is this cased, antique, ladies' French 950 silver and cut crystal hip flask.Elongated thumb print/vertical cuts to the body of the flask. The removable 950 silver cup and the cap both have a gold (vermeil) wash to protect the silver from acidic liquids. Both remain plain & unmonogrammed.Originally it would been for 'Eau de Mélisse' - a comforting and invigorating formula for digestive problems, fatigue & motion sickness for the upper class lady. Now a nip of your favourite alcohol can be kept in your hand bag.The side cup, the collar to the bottle and the lid are all hallmarked with the minerva silver purity for 950 (ie. better than 925 sterling). There is also a maker mark which looks to be AR, but I've been unable to attribute it.Height of 9.1cm. In good antique condition - No chips or cracks to the glass. Comes with original glass inner stopper and lid 'snaps' very tight. Interior will require a clean/soak - selling as found. There are a couple of dings to the silver - one to the lid and a few around the bottom of the cup, which impact its ability to stand stable on a table whilst the cup is on the bottom. Nice to find original fitted case, which shows some scuffs/marks etc commensurate with age. Please consider photos. Pickup available from Camberwell (3124) otherwise postage as quoted. Happy to combine postage for multiple purchases. Will be sent with tracking information and full transit insurance at the sellers expense.Payment within 3 days of item finishing please, unless otherwise arranged. International buyers please note that no responsibility for any customs duties is taken by the seller. Please check out other great collectables and vintage items at my eBay store by clicking my store name at the top of this listing or on the following link: other items
