Description: Organically grown Capulin cherry Prunus salicifolia in a 3.5in deep pot 4+in tall. Native to mexico and possibly Guatemala, today its cultivated more in the Andes and was introduced into CA after the mid 1920s. Grows naturally at elevations of 4000-9000ft. It is frost tolerant withstanding to 19F with some damage to the smaller branches. Does not require winter chill to fruit. Attractive Semi deciduous to evergreen (mild climates) tree, is very fast growing. Can reach 30ft but easily kept pruned small. The aromatic leaves are about 4 1/2in long and slender with serrated edges. Flowers are born on racemes, cross pollination is not required. Can have 15-20 fruit per raceme.
