Description: Huge original antique engraving print from an 1860s illustrated journal. It depicts 10 views of Hamilton, Canada on the occasion of a visit by Prince of Wales (Albert Edward, later Edward VII). THe views include:1) Burlington Bay Canal2) Regatta on Lake Ontario, the Glance of Kingston Yacht3) The Residence of the Prince of Wales4) The Provencial Exhibition of Upper Canada5) The Gore Hamilton Fountain6) James Street7) Hamilton Water Works8) Mechanics Arch9) The Price entering Hamilton procession10) The Prince departing Hamilton by railroad. It is very large (double folio size), measuring approximately 22 x 16 inches (56 x 40.5 cm). The picture fills most of the page, with a caption below. There is unrelated text/photos on the back of this print. The print has a fold in the middle, where it was folded into the magazine long ago. Note that the fold line is clean and undamaged, because it was "tipped" into the binding. This was a luxury binding technique of that era, because the double page prints were free of binding holes down the center.PLEASE NOTE, THere is a tear in the upper portion of the print that runs into the sky area of the yacht just to the right of the fold line. There is an archival tape repair on the back, so it is not at risk of spreading. But it is visible. See scan for an accurate view of the condition. This print will come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
