The Irish author speculates whether a nation of Emigrants can maintain its present (1933) world Supremacy. Interestingly the original owner's pencil notations at the end of the book, along with his full-page critique of the book on the half-title suggests that he and the author are in disagreement as to the sustainability of the "United" States.
