Caithness HIGH SEAS Paperweight Scotland Art Glass Blue w/ Neodymium Effect

Description: Due to the increase in volume of packages being shipped through the US Postal System, shipping times have occasionally been longer than those estimated by either eBay or the USPS tracking tool. Here is a vintage (late 1980's) Caithness Glass Paperweight- swirls and peaks of teal and white glass rise above cobalt blue in a body of glass that has a slight neodymium effect (as some of Caithness glass does),called "High Seas".This was designed by Alastair MacIntosh, made in Scotland, and is marked (sandblasted)on its base - which has been ground flat and polishedCaithnessHIGH SEASScotlandThere is also an identification number written on thebase, shown in photos #8 and #9 - which I cannot quite make out. The video shows how this interesting paperweight reacts to three different light sources ...1) an LED OTTLite lamp, 2) an old 100W Soft White incandescent bulb, and 3) a compact fluorescent bulb - plus different combinations of the various bulbs lit together. The different light sources each reflect on the paperweightin a different location when they are lit ... The reflection from the LED bulb is at about 11 o'clock (if the paperweight were a clock), then going clockwise, the incandescent bulb reflection is at about 1:30, and finally, the fluorescent bulb reflection isat about 8:00.The "key" to the different bulb reflections is shown in the photo immediately after the video. This paperweight measures about 2¾" high, just over3" wide at its widest,and it weighs slightly over 1½ pounds. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs,but there are scuffs, scratches, and at least one tinyflea bite (too small to call it a chip), on the surface ofthe top of the paperweight.The most noticeable of these are shown in the last 7 photos.There are also some expected scratches on the flat base from use.
