AN EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL WORKING FRENCH CIRCA 1880 SOLID ALL 18K SOLID GOLD SOUGHT AFTER SMALL BUT FANTASTIC LOOKING AND EXTREMELY RARE LADY'S FOB WATCH SET WITH SEED PEARLS AND FINISHED WITH STUNNING BLUE ENAMEL WORK!!! DEFINITELY A WATCH FOR ANY ELTON JOHN FANS OUT THERE! CASE: The 4 piece DOUBLE HINGED case to this beautiful fob watch is solid 18k gold. It has the most STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL hand set ring of SEED PEARLS ALL AROUND the outside edges of the case and on the bezel. It is absolutely beautiful!! The case back is AMAZING. It is finished in stunning deep blue enamel work with gold highlights and silver enamel 'jewels' The case is in fabulous condition and is ALL solid 18k gold. The enamel work shows a little wear in one place (see photos) The back cover snaps on beautifully as does the SOLID 18k dustcover. The dust cover is in excellent condition with very little wear.The inside of the back cover is hallmarked for 18k. I have gently polished the case, and it is shining wonderfully, as only hi grade GOLD can. THE WATCH MEASURES 2.2CMS (22MM) IN DIAMETER. The 18k gold hinges to the case back are in good condition good. This is an absolutely STUNNINGLY beautiful watch case. DIAL: This lovely collectible watch has a beautiful original bright white dial. it is unsigned, and is showing no damage that I can see (see photos). It has beautiful black painted Roman numerals which are sharp and crisp and are in excellent condition. The numerals are beautifully enclosed on gold enamel borders and look fantastic! The crystal seems to be the original glass one and is in good condition showing some light wear across its surface. The beautiful antique 'filigree' fancy style golden steel watch hands are in excellent condition. MOVEMENT: This is a lovely condition Swiss made unsigned crown wind and pin set cylinder Swiss movement. It has minty steel screws. This watch is in good running order but as always a full service would be recommended for optimum running and performance. It winds smoothly and sets as it should. The crown and the chain ring are solid 18k gold and are both in excellent condition. Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming. Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average between +-2 to +-5 mins per day. They are a little more destructible than modern watches. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000 mile checkup, oil change, and general service. By taking care of your vintage watch, you will have years of great service, and a quality heirloom to pass to another generation.
