Description: The Grand Antique Mall, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, presents the bronze sculpture, EAGLE, by Jules Moigniez (FRENCH 1835-1894). The large 32-1/4”H bronze was created in the lost wax tradition by the Bernard Foundry Company located in the United States, known for hiring gifted artists and producing the finest quality bronze castings. Signed J. Moigniez within the casting. A successful animal sculptor in the 19th century, Jules Moigniez produced bronze sculptures of birds, dogs, horses and other animals. At the age of 20, Moigniez made his recorded debut at an exhibit at the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1855; he continued to exhibit regularly at the Salons from 1859 to 1892, where he won numerous medals. His sculptures quickly became world famous. DIMENSIONS: 32-1/4”H x 19-1/2”W x 20-1/2”D. Marble base=1-1/4”H x 11.5”Diameter. WT=65 lbs. CONDITION: Excellent condition.
