Description: We have recently come into possession of items from the estate of Sally Pleet. Ms. Pleet was an accomplished artist, discerning collector, and businesswoman who co-owned and operated an art store – “Things Japanese” - in Manhattan for over 30 years. This inheritance includes works of art she created, items she picked up during her extensive travels, and works bestowed on her by various artists, including her husband John Bradley, friends Bob Levering, Barry Cohen and Lawrence Bickford, and her uncle, Theodore Haupt. We are pleased to offer these one-of-a-kind art works at reasonable prices. A New Yorker to her core, Sally Pleet graduated from CCNY in 1959 and later studied at the Museum of Modern Art and Silvermine Art College in Norwalk. From 1960-1995, she was co-director and instructor at NYC’s Community Environments, where she directed projects for the School of Visual Arts, The Cloisters Museum, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and Rockefeller Center. Her work, which includes paintings and sculpture, has been exhibited at The Cloisters Museum, the Museum of American Folk Art, the Pavel Zoubok Gallery, and other art spaces. 11.5" x 7.5"
