Description: An original VICTORIAN CROWN, 1868-1901, The 42nd Royal Highland Regiment of Foot bi-metal cap badge. This is the fourth of four patterns for the 42nd Regiment of Foot, K&K 497. The badge is an eight-pointed star with a thistle wreath enclosing an oval inscribed "Nemo me impune lacessit" and surmounted by a Queen Victoria crown. Within the oval are the numerals "42" and below the oval is a sphinx. The star and numerals are in white metal, the remainder in gilding metal. The badge is in very good condition, very crisp and detailed. The loop fittings on the back are intact. 5.8 X 7.5 cm. We ship worldwide.
