Description: Breyerfest 2021-Seurat Glossy on the Friesian Sporthorse mold. Special run of 1,000. Seurat is a Breyerfest Special Run from 2021. He is on the Friesian Sporthorse mold #806. There were 1,000 made of the glossy version, and 1,000 of the Matte. He is model #711496G. This was the first year Breyerfest was online (because of the pandemic) and it was great fun to finally “attend” Breyerfest and to be able to order Special Runs, which were randomly assigned. I was thrilled when I got a glossy! He is absolutely stunning, and it is hard to part with him, but I had a bunch of storm damage to my house and car, so need money for repairs before winter. He is described as a “glossy dappled sooty palomino with a pearlescent mane and tail. He is absolutely gorgeous! I don’t see any flaws on him. He comes with his COA, which many failed to download; for some reason it came via email weeks after Breyerfest. I was lucky to spot it and print it out and I think it adds to his history and the theme of that year’s Breyerfest, which was a Horse of a Different Color, sub-theme Seven Arts Surprise. There were eight Special Runs named after either famous artists-such as Seurat, Polluck, Ansel, Gran Cavallo- from a Leonardo da Vinci rendering , or historic places such as Pech Merle, Tassili, Knossos, and Uffington. He will come very carefully wrapped; shown are three photos of layering, and of course the horse will be centered in his box with plenty of wrap to keep him there. I am a collector, and know how terrible it is to look forward to getting a “grail” horse, only to have it damaged by careless packaging. The Friesian Sporthorse mold was sculpted by Lynn A. Fraley. It originally debuted as the second Premier Collection model of 2020. Georges-Pierre Seurat was a French post-Impressionist painter and draftsman. He is noted for his innovative use of drawing media and for devising painting techniques known as chromoluminarism and pointillism. Though he didn’t live long (December 2, 1859- March 29, 1891) he developed revolutionary techniques that added methods not seen before. Seurat’s artistic personality was compounded of qualities which are usually supposed to be opposed and incompatible: on one hand, his extreme and delicate sensibility; on the other, a passion for logical abstraction and an almost mathematical precision of mind. His large-scale work, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (1884-1886), altered the direction of modern art by initiating Neo-impressionism, and is one of the icons of late 19th-century painting.
