Description: This uncirculated 50 Brazilian cruzeiro note was part of the provisional notes issued by the Central Bank of Brazil as the currency transitioned from cruzado novo to cruzeiro. The denomination was printed on a 50 cruzado novo note. It was eventually withdrawn in September 1992. Its obverse side included a black stamp of 50 CRUZEIROS, a picture of the poet Carlos Drummond de Andrade, a handwritten excerpt from Andrades manuscript of Prece de um Mineiro no Rio (Prayer of a Mineiro in Rio), and a village in Itabira. The reverse side depicts a scene of Andrade writing on a desk, with the poem Cancao Amiga (Friendly Song) at the side. The note has a solid security mark and a watermark of the Head of Republica. Its dimensions are 140 mm x 65 mm.
