Description: The 1990 Brazil Cruzado Novo bears a design similar to the preceding issue but with the denomination in the new cruzeiros currency engraved on both its front and back sides. This particular paper bill is in uncirculated condition. The obverse features an effigy of Republica. It also depicts Marshal Manuel Deodoro da Fonseca, Silva Jardim, Benjamin Constant, and Quintino Bocaiuva. The reverse of the banknote displays a detail of Patria or Fatherland which is a 1918 oil painting of Pedro Paulo Bruno depicting the sewing of the flag of Brazil by seated women and children. It also bears laurels and a star, and flowers. The banknotes security features include a registration device which shows the countrys coat of arms, a solid security thread, and a watermark which displays the Head of Republica.
