Description: + Early Edition + DRACULA By Bram Stoker Publishing Details: Published by Rider, Sixtenth Edition, 1927. Original decorated paper-covered grey coloured boards with black titles to front cover and spine. 404pp trimmed. Condition: In near VG condition. Very slight forward lean. Spine end rubbing, tiny nicks / dents to corner tips. Two strips of sunning along edges of rear board. Pages a little browned with age. No cracking of endpapers, binding firm. The photographs are the most accurate guide to condition. Context: A 1920s printing of this classic vampire novel. After the copyright was transferred from Constable, the early Rider editions were produced in identical formats to the short story volume "Dracula's Guest" ie scarlet red cloth with gilt titles. Presumably because of shortages caused by WW1, the books were slightly smaller than typical Rider offerings from that era, plus the paper employed was a bit thinner and cheaper than usual. This new size was carried over into the 1920s reprint but the previous red cloth was switched for paper-covered boards. Anyway, a very decent copy of an early edition tarnished only by strips of sunning to rear board. Important Terms: Returns are not accepted. Books are accurately described.
