Description: 1947, U. S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, 342 pgs., from a private collection. From the frontispiece: This bulletin is one of a series prepared to record the history of the Boulder Canyon Project, the results of technical studies and experimental investigations, and the more unusual features of design and construction. A list of the bulletins available and tentatively proposed for publication is given at the back of this report. This volume documents, via technical drawings, maps, text and figures the diversion, outlet and spillway structures associated with the construction of Boulder Dam, renamed Hoover Dam by a joint resolution of the Congress and approved by the President on April 30, 1947. This bulletin was too near completion on that date to permit making the appropriate changes in the text and drawings. This volume is heavily populated with drawings, illustrations, figures and maps of all of the systems associated with diversion, outlet and spillway structures on this project. The binding is square and tight, "library bound", i.e., illustrated boards so no dust jacket required, a solid spine, clean and unrubbed boards, clean page fore-edges, and but for a former owner's name imprinted on the front, free end paper, unmarked in any regard. It is also printed on heavy, high-quality glossy paper, which is quite heavy and impressive. It documents the magnificent achievement of the construction of all the systems noted.
